The Fly Shop is owned by 7 time’s Protea and World Silver medalist  Mark Yelland. Mark has been fly fishing for 28 years and has been in the specialised fly fishing retail business for 20 years. Doug Howes, his lieutenant, has been fly fishing for 37 years, with 11 years in fly fishing retail. Together they make a formidable team!! Mark has fly fished on 5 continents and more than 20 countries worldwide for fresh and saltwater species. He hosts the very popular Wildfly television series on Supersport and the show will now go to 92 countries via ESPN.

The Fly Shop is the exclusive importer of the world’s leading fly rod brand Sage (USA) and Mark has been importing Sage products since 1998. The Fly Shop is no ordinary store and has an enviable reputation in dispensing sound, honest advice to both novice and experienced fly fishers. We also encourage young fly fishers and ladies which are now a more frequent sight on our rivers and dams. We are continually working on developing exciting and successful fly patterns for all species of fish for fresh and saltwater. The Fly Shop has the most extensive and exciting range of fresh and saltwater flies, (hand picked by Mark), many of which are tied exclusively for us.

Both Mark and Doug are extremely passionate about fly fishing, conservation and the environment. The Fly Shop has a slogan which reads, “Everyone who lives, dies  but not everyone who dies, has lived”. So, Fly fish with us and live a life to die for.
